P&A Grant Thornton marked a major milestone with the release of its inaugural sustainability report, underscoring its transformation from a compliance-focused firm to a purpose-driven leader in the professional services sector.
The report, unveiled on June 26, 2025, by chief sustainability officer Chris Ferareza during a special stakeholder event, reflects the firm’s deepening commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.
“This report is more than a document. It is about transformation, a reflection of our journey and the values we choose to stand for,” Ferareza said.
P&A Grant Thornton’s sustainability journey began years ago but was formally launched in early 2022, marking a pivotal shift in how the firm defines its purpose. This shift involved reimagining its role, not merely as auditors and advisors, but as architects of a more resilient and inclusive future.
Recognizing that true impact extends beyond internal efforts, the firm launched a dedicated sustainability services practice to help clients navigate the evolving ESG landscape, manage climate risks, comply with regulations, and meet stakeholder expectations.
Ferareza noted that the release of the report came at a time when sustainability is no longer optional. Across the globe, businesses face mounting pressure to demonstrate their ESG performance – not just to regulators, but to investors, employees, and the communities they serve.
As a trusted advisor, P&A Grant Thornton is uniquely positioned to drive change, not only through its own practices but by helping shape the strategies of its clients.
Moving forward, the firm intends to expand its sustainability initiatives, strengthen advisory capabilities, and engage stakeholders through ongoing dialogue. Future reports will track progress, highlight key insights, and uphold the firm’s accountability to its commitments.
The report highlighted an ongoing evolution in the role of professional services firms, from being traditional custodians of financial integrity to becoming active champions of sustainable progress.
