PPA’s first-half revenues up 13.6% to P14.85b

State-run Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) said Friday its revenues grew 13.65 percent to P14.85 billion in the first half of 2025 from P12.91 billion in the same period last year.

The agency said the surge reflects the continued dynamism of Philippine trade and tourism, driven by the agency’s strategic programs and relentless focus on port efficiency.

“Every peso of revenue, every ship that docks, every passenger who travels through our ports tells a story of livelihoods sustained, communities linked, and opportunities created. This is how we sustain our legacy, making sure that our ports remain strong pillars of national development,” PPA general-manager Jay Santiago said.

PPA said cargo throughput grew 7.54 percent to 148.93 million metric tons in the first half of the year from 138.49 million a year ago.

Container traffic went up to 4.16 million TEUs from 3.75 million last year, while passenger traffic expanded by 10.25 percent to 45.99 million from 41.71 million.
