Over 70K Valenzuela senior citizens get early Christmas gifts in July

The Valenzuela City government officially launched “Pasko sa Hulyo Para Kay Lolo at Lola 2025” in fulfillment of the city’s annual gift-giving tradition.

Through a budget of P35.64 million, a total of 72,218 senior citizens in the city are scheduled to receive 10 kilograms of rice from the local government over a five-day distribution program set on July 10, 11, 12, 18, and 19 across various Valenzuela barangays.

Beneficiaries include all senior citizens residing in Valenzuela who were officially registered with the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) on or before April 30.

Rice gift vouchers were distributed house-to-house in advance by OSCA and barangay personnel. These indicate the date, time, and venue of the scheduled rice distribution, allowing beneficiaries and their families to prepare accordingly.

For senior citizens unable to personally claim their rice packs, they may assign an authorized representative to claim on their behalf. The said representative must present the Pasko sa Hulyo voucher, a valid ID of the claimant, an authorization letter signed by the senior citizen, and a valid OSCA-issued ID of the beneficiary.

Valenzuela Mayor Wes Gatchalian has since reaffirmed the city’s unwavering support for its elderly population.

According to Gatchalian, Pasko sa Hulyo is not just about giving rice, but it is a sincere expression of the city’s gratitude for its senior citizens who have helped build Valenzuela into what it is today.
