Seventeen’s Hoshi, Woozi to enter military in September

Seventeen members Hoshi and Woozi are set to begin their mandatory military service in September.

On Monday, July 8, Pledis Entertainment released a statement on Weverse announcing that Woozi will enlist for active duty on September 15, followed by Hoshi on Sept. 16. The two K-pop idols will temporarily halt group activities with Seventeen during their time in service.

Before their enlistment, the pair will meet fans one last time through the “Hoshi x Woozi Fan Concert [Warning]” and a video call fan-signing event in support of the group’s fifth studio album, Yizhiyu. These will be their final official schedules prior to military duty.

“Following the start of their military service, they will not be able to participate in Seventeen’s group activities. However, they will continue to stay connected with Carat through a variety of pre-recorded content,” the statement read.

Pledis also asked fans to avoid visiting the enlistment site in person, citing privacy and safety concerns, and encouraged supporters to send messages through the Weverse platform instead.

Hoshi and Woozi are the latest members to enter mandatory military service, following fellow members Jeonghan, who began his enlistment in October last year, and Wonwoo in April this year.
