‘Bising’ exits Philippines, but PAGASA stays cautious

Tropical depression ‘Bising’ is out of the Philippine area of responsibility, but its movement is still being monitored as state weather bureau PAGASA did not rule out its likelihood of making a re-entry.

In an update issued Friday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said ‘Bising’ has exited the monitoring domain as of 2:00 p.m.

It was last monitored hovering at 335 kilometers west of Calayan, Cagayan. It had maximum sustained winds of 55 km per hour and moving northwest at 15 km per hour.

PAGASA earlier noted in its weather bulletin that ‘Bising’ may develop into a tropical storm by Saturday before making a possible re-entry into Philippine territory by Sunday.

The state weather bureau raised tropical cyclone wind signal no. 1 over the western portion of Babuyan Islands as well as parts of Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur. The wind signals have been lifted as of 5:00 p.m.
