PDEA reports P219-m drug haul, 51 arrests by end-June

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), along with other law enforcement authorities, confiscated an estimated P219-million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 51 drug personalities in a series of high-impact operations nationwide from June 20 to 27.

“The one-week accomplishments reflect PDEA’s tireless commitment to eradicating illegal drugs at their source whether in urban hubs or remote plantations,” said PDEA director general Isagani Nerez in a statement on Tuesday.

“The P219 million haul and 51 arrests send a clear message. We will relentlessly pursue drug traffickers, street level pushers, drug smugglers and financiers in line with the directives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.,” he added.

The anti-drug campaign—marked by 39 buy-bust operations, three drug recoveries and large-scale marijuana eradication efforts—disrupted major trafficking networks and dismantled drug dens, according to PDEA.

Among the seized substances include 28 kilos of meth (also known as shabu), 834 grams of cocaine, 7 kilos of dried marijuana leaves, and 37,750 fully grown marijuana plants.

PDEA said these latest activities marked one of the largest single-week hauls in its recent operations. The agency attributed it to the strong and close collaboration with local police, regional units and communities.

It encouraged the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious illegal drug activities to the PDEA hotlines (0995-354-7020 / 0931-027-8212).
