Mandala artist Karina Herrera Orozco unveils her first solo exhibition, Colors of Life, at the Gateway Gallery from June 28 to July 12, 2025.
The show offers a mesmerizing glimpse into her deeply personal and spiritual journey through Mandala art.
Rooted in the Sanskrit word for “circle,” the mandala is a sacred symbol in Hindu and Buddhist traditions, representing wholeness, balance, and the universe.
In modern usage, it is widely recognized as a geometric design evoking harmony and unity—concepts that Karina masterfully brings to life in her work.
For Karina, painting mandalas is a form of meditation. Each piece is painstakingly created by hand, freeform and without stencils, allowing her to pour energy and intention into every pattern. The result is a striking collection of intricate mandalas painted on wood, embellished with acrylics, mirrors, rhinestones, and delicate dotwork.
Opening to the public on June 29, the exhibit warmly welcomes art lovers, collectors, and anyone drawn to the transformative power of mindful creation. The exhibit promises to be an immersive sensory experience, blending vibrant color, texture, and symmetry to evoke feelings of calm and connection.
