Two shooting incidents occurred at Barangay Tuktukan, Taguig City on the evening of June 24, Tuesday, which resulted in the deaths of three individuals with two injured, and the capture of a most wanted suspect.
Following a call from a concerned citizen, cops from the Taguig City Police Station and Police Substation-4 (Ususan) led by Captain Nelvin Pacia, responded to a shooting incident involving four individuals in front of the barangay hall.
“Our cops responded to a call from a concerned citizen about a shooting incident at around 4:45PM of June 24, Tuesday,” Taguig City Police chief Col. Rodel Pastor said during an interview with reporters at the crime scene.
He also identified the suspects by their aliases—Ian and Mark—who were both killed when an armed civilian fired back when they attempted to shoot a minor, who was previously released from the custody of “Bahay Pag-Asa.”
Pastor also said ‘Ian’ was the Top 1 most wanted person of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) for the month of May and has two warrants of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 153 of Taguig for murder.
“He (Ian) has an existing warrant. We are backtracking his whereabouts because of his records of murder and killing spree in the area then this happened,” Pastor said.
“The firearms were recovered as cops responded in less than three minutes, and as we conducted a backtracking of footage captured by CCTV in the vicinity, we identified the persons who took the firearms and they were jeepney barkers in the said area,” he added.
The barker who received the firearm from another individual who took it from the crime scene was already arrested and will be facing criminal charges for violating laws on firearms regulation and obstruction of justice.
Hours after the incident in Gen. Luna St., another shooting incident occurred at Bagong Calzada St. also in Brgy. Tuktukan involving a minor. The victim was shot dead by a suspect who was later arrested.
The victim allegedly scammed the suspect and police are looking into it as the possible motive behind the killing.
Pastor lauded the rapid response of police officers in these crime scenes. He said it all took them less than three minutes after receiving the call on the shooting incidents in separate locations.
