Alex Eala hardly sweated it out as she got past Italian Lucia Bronzetti, 6-0, 6-1, on Monday.
Eala finished off Bronzetti in 61 minutes to barge into the Round of 16 of the WTA 250 Lexus Eastbourne Open in Great Britain.
Earlier, the world no. 77 Eala pulled through with a three-set winner over American Hailey Baptiste in the qualifiers.
The 20 year old Eala, stamped her class on the world No. 61 after scoring 22 points off 28 first serves.
This put Eala in the second round of the main draw.
She now waits for the winner between Great Britain’s Sonay Kartal and world No. 4 Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia to know her next assignment on Wednesday.
Kartal and Ostapenko, are slatedfor a Last 32 showdown this Tuesday.
Eala drew five points from nine breaks she got from her game with Bronzetti.
Her participation is part of her buildup for her professional Grand Slam tournament at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships in London.
