President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. joins nine traditional artists who were awarded the 2023 Gawad sa Manlilikha ng Bayan (GAMABA) for their outstanding contribution to Filipino culture. The awardees include the following: Adelita Bagcal (Ilocos Norte) – Oral tradition and chanting; Abina Coguit (Agusan del Sur) – Embroidery and beadwork: Hadja Sakinur-ain Delasas (Tawi-Tawi) – Traditional dance; Bundos Fara (South Cotabato) – Brass casting; Marife Ganahon (Bukidnon) – Weaving; Amparo Mabanag (Mountain Province) – Embroidery and beadwork; Samporonia Madanlo (Davao Oriental) – Weaving; Barbara Ofong (South Cotabato) – Weaving; Rosie Sula (South Cotabato) – Oral tradition and chanting.
