The race for the Senate in the upcoming 2025 elections is shaping up to be a contest primarily between incumbents and former senators, according to the results of the Tugon ng Masa pre-election survey conducted by OCTA Research.
Of the 66 candidates, 18 are statistically positioned to win, with a clear dominance of political veterans and strong contenders tied to the Marcos administration-backed slate, Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas.
Interestingly, topping the survey is re-electionist Senator Christopher Lawrence Go, who holds a commanding 64% voter preference, positioning him between 1st and 2nd place.
This surge comes just as Go gains further attention following the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
ACT-CIS party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo is statistically tied with him at 1st to 2nd with 61% support. His brother Ben Tulfo follows with 48%, firmly securing a ranking in the 3rd to 5th range.
Former Senate President Vicente Sotto III and Senator Ramon Revilla, both with 46% and 45%, respectively, are placed within the 3rd to 8th range.
The 4th to 10th range also includes Senator Lito Lapid and former Senator Panfilo Lacson, each with 42%, as well as Senator Pia Cayetano, who holds 41%.
Further down the statistical rankings, Senator Ronald Dela Rosa (38%) and Mayor Abby Binay (37%) sit between the 6th and 11th positions, while Camille Villar, with 35%, is in the same range.
Notably, former Senator Manny Pacquiao, Willie Revillame, and Benhur Abalos each received approximately 29% of the vote, placing them within the 12th to 18th statistical range. Former Senator Bam Aquino, with 28%, is positioned in the same ranking.
In the bottom tier, former Senator Kiko Pangilinan, Senators Francis Tolentino and Imee Marcos are ranked with roughly 27% support, placing them between 12th and 19th in the overall rankings.
The survey, which was conducted between March 18 and 24, 2025, interviewed 1,200 respondents aged 18 and above through face-to-face interviews. It has a ±3% margin of error at a 95% confidence level.
