Senator Lito Lapid is declared ‘Honorary Chieftain’ of the indigenous minority tribe Agta of his hometown, Iriga City in Camarines Sur. Iriga officials led by Mayor Wilfredo Rex Oliva, gifted Lapid, chair of the Senate Committee on Tourism, with a locally made machete called ‘sumagang’ and an ‘inabel’ which is made of abaca fibers.
