IN celebration of the National Women’s Month and the Social Work Month, Mayor Honey Lacuna has called on Manilans to “honor and treat women as co-equals everyday, and not just this month.”
The mayor issued the call during the traditional Monday morning flag-raising ceremony at the city hall.

In her remarks, Lacuna cited the women workers of the city government, notably of the Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW) headed by Re Fugoso for their efforts in ensuring quick and efficient response in times of calamities.
Women deserve to be treated as co-equals and honored all the time, Lacuna said, citing their role in nation-building and how they rose from doing usual household chores to holding positions of power.
