BUREAU of Immigration (BI) officers at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) prevented from leaving two Filipino women pretending to be officemates purportedly travelling as tourists.
Immigration Protection and Border Enforcement Section (I-PROBES) agents intercepted the women, aged 25 and 31, who tried to pass themselves off as co-workers on leave, bound for Bangkok, Thailand.
The women claimed they were working as call center agents in Quezon City, and are traveling as tourists.
However, the BI officers noted inconsistencies in the passengers travel papers that contradicted their verbal statements. The women subsequently admitted that they were not officemates, but were actually recruited to work in Laos as customer service representatives for P50,000-monthly pay.
