Workers from the Caloocan City Hall spruce up the monument of the Great Plebian, Andres Bonifacio, in time for today’s celebration of his 161st birthday. This year’s Bonifacio Day theme is: ‘Filipino Unity: Foundation for a Free and Prosperous People.’
Bonifacio lit the revolutionary flame that spread and eventually ended Spanish colonial rule in 1898.
