Energizing the south’s nightlife

Tunnel Bar opens its doors in Parqal

The local nightlife scene is often packed with individuals from all walks of life. Whether it’s an office worker unwinding after a stressful day or a group of friends eager to let loose, bars and clubs are typically filled with people once the sun goes down.

Entering this bustling scene to offer a relaxed space in Aseana City’s Parqal Mall is Tunnel Bar. Opened last May, Tunnel Bar is owned by architect Albert Nocom, who wanted to create the perfect spot for music enthusiasts to enjoy their favorite tunes while sharing drinks with friends.

During the bar’s official launch on Oct. 9, special guests and some members of the media were treated to a night of good food and drinks, while musical performances from local bands and artists energized the crowd.

Various local bands and musicians serenade guests with performances about different themes each night

The food that Tunnel Bar offers is not only limited to a few snacks that were meant to accompany the usual bar drinks but also several meals for those looking to appease their hunger. Its menu bears a wide selection of appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, platters, and desserts without any focus on a particular cuisine that is perfect for light and heavy eaters alike.

Guests also get to enjoy various kinds of drinks ranging from liqueurs like shots or bottles of Baileys, Jagermeister, Amaretto, Tequila rose, and Kahlua to long drinks like shots of Long Island, Pina Colada, Sex on the Beach, Sangria, Tequila Sunrise, Screwdriver, Singapore Sling, and many more. While there is a wide selection of cocktails, beers, whiskey, vodka, single malt, rum, cognac, gin, and tequila on the menu, other non-alcoholic beverages are also available for those who may be looking for other options.

Apart from the food and drinks, something that would keep guests coming back for more are the energizing musical performances of all types of popular music. While the grand launch saw performances of bands Komiko Band, Project M Acoustic, Abbey Pineda with Funkybrew, and 2nd Verse Acoustic as well as artist Kyla Nicole Lim, the bar used to only hold live band performances once a week.

Due to the demand of many of its loyal customers, the bar ended up accommodating several up-and-coming DJs, live bands, and artists for the entire week. It has a specific theme for performances every day of the week which are Unique Mondays, Bespoke Tuesdays, Rewind Wednesdays, Soul Rhythm Thursdays, Fallout Fridays, and Ecstatic Saturdays.

While serving as a home for music enthusiasts lurking in the nightlife, the Tunnel Bar is also open for various events such as weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, corporate events, press conferences, and seminars as it can accommodate up to 200 people.

Tunnel Bar is located on the Ground Floor of Parqal Mall, Aseana City, and is open from 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Mondays to Thursdays, and Sundays and 5:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
