Cement makers vow to support housing sector

The Cement Manufacturers Association of the Philippines (CeMAP) said it is commited to supporting the growth of the housing sector.

CeMAP president Reinier Dizon, speaking during the 32nd National Developers Convention held in Davao City on Oct. 10 and 11, 2021, emphasized the industry’s ample capacity to meet market demands and its dedication to providing developers with a reliable and sustainable supply of cement.

“The domestic cement industry has significantly expanded its capacity, growing from 27 million tons in 2014 to 50 million tons in 2024. We are poised to deliver ample supply, provided that developers actively procure from us,” Dizon said.

Cement, as a crucial material for house construction and infrastructure, plays a vital role in driving the sector’s growth.

“The local cement industry can significantly contribute to the success of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council by ensuring product availability, quality, consistency, freshness, cost savings on logistics, and sustainability,” Dizon said.
