The visit coincided with the inauguration of Reverend Chen Meng Li, the new principal of Ateneo de Naga University and former president of the Philippine Association for Chinese Studies.

The event underscored the ACFSP’s ongoing efforts to collaborate with educational institutions in the Philippines.

The group visited several provincial schools including Laguna Santiago Education Foundation, United Evangelical Church School, Lucena Harmony Christian School, Philippine Tong Ho Institute, Saint Francis Xavier High School, Camarines Norte Chung Hua High School, Legaspi Hope Christian School, Tabaco Pei Ching School, Naga Saint Joseph School and Naga Hope Christian School.

During the visits, they engaged with teachers and students, discussed the current teaching landscape and identified both opportunities and challenges faced by the said institutions.

They also gave special issues celebrating the organization’s 20th and 30th anniversaries to the schools and sent festival greetings to the educational community.

The association will hold its Members Congress from Nov. 15 to 17, 2024 to honor provincial Chinese teachers with the “Respecting Teachers and Respecting Disciplines Incentives.” It aims to promote Chinese culture and education while encouraging cooperation among Chinese schools in the Philippines.

The association plays a key role in developing Chinese education in the country by supporting cultural preservation and academic success.
