The OMODA E5, the first fully-electric crossover SUV from OMODA Philippines, has officially earned certification from the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) after successfully exceeding its published range of 430 kilometers during a rigorous efficiency test.
In a nearly 13-hour drive across six diverse locations, including Shell Mampalasan and Poro Point Lighthouse, two OMODA E5 vehicles maintained an average cruising speed of 80 km/h. The test was conducted under specific parameters: 100% battery charge, standard OEM equipment, and tire pressures set to 42 psi. Both vehicles carried three passengers and 10 kg of cargo, simulating real-world driving conditions.
During the efficiency run, the vehicles operated in extreme energy-saving mode, maximizing regenerative braking. Passengers adjusted the air conditioning and utilized other features like headlamps and the infotainment system, ensuring a realistic experience. Adaptive cruise control was also activated for added convenience.
At the conclusion of the test, one vehicle reported a remaining range of 8 km with a battery state of charge of 2%, achieving a total range of 442.7 km. The second vehicle recorded a remaining range of 28 km with a 7% charge, totaling 428.8 km. Overall, the test vehicles averaged 435 kilometers, surpassing the OMODA E5’s claimed range.
