Kevin Santos came through anew to lift Letran to 75-73 win over Emilio Aguinaldo College on Wednesday and into joint second in NCAA Season 100 at the Filoil EcoOil Arena.
After scoring the game-winner in a 71-69 stunner over College of St. Benilde Sunday, Santos followed it up with masterful 17-point effort that he spiked with six blocks as the Knights jumped to No. 2 with the Cardinals on 4-2 slates.
They now trail the Blazers by just half a game as the latter own a 4-1 mark.
But unlike last time when Santos couldn’t make a single shot until that game-sealing dagger underneath, Santos’ shots kept on falling.
That quashed whatever fight the Generals could muster as they sputtered to 2-4.
Earlier, Jose Rizal University turned back Arellano U in a high-scoring duel that the former eventually snared.
It was the Bombers’ second triumph against four losses.
The Chiefs stumbled to 1-5.
In the other game, Lyceum of the Philippines University clobbered Mapua, 96-81, to barge into the magic four with a 3-2 mark.
The Cardinals dropped to 3-2.
