Stanley Pringle waxe hot in the final quarter, leading Terrafirma Dyip to a hard-fought 84-72 triumph over TNT Tropang Giga, during the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Season 49 Governors’ Cup on Thursday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Pringle scored eight of his 18 points in the last two minutes, securing Dyip’s long-awaited win in the confernce and improving their record to 1-8 at the bottom of Group A.
Antonio Hester, despite being sidelined in the final period due to a hand injury, led Terrafirma with 22 points.
With Dyip clinging to a slim 71-68 lead, Pringle’s clutch layup, followed by four free throws and a driving basket, extended their advantage to 79-70 with 1:39 left on the clock.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson top-scored for the Tropang Giga with 25 points, though TNT had already secured a quarterfinal berth alongside the Meralco Bolts, holding a 7-2 record.
