Bureau of Customs (BOC) operatives foiled an attempt to smuggle high-grade marijuana and vape worth P6.8 million at the Central Mail Exchange in Pasay City.
The BOC, in close collaboration with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG), intercepted four parcels containing the illegal drugs.
In a statement, the BOC said it conducted a physical examination of the seized parcels and discovered 4,877 grams of kush or high-grade marijuana and seven vape cartridges containing cannabis oil.
All confiscated drugs are now in the custody of PDEA while the consignees will be subjected to further investigation and facing charges of importing illegal drugs.
“Our resolve to prevent the entry of illegal drugs into the Philippines is stronger than ever. This operation highlights our unwavering commitment to safeguarding our communities,” the BOC said in a statement.
