Jordan Adams sparks San Miguel Beermen’s victory over Phoenix Super LPG

Returning import Jordan Adams delivered a stellar performance with 41 points as the San Miguel Beermen defeated the Phoenix Super LPG, 139-127, on Friday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

With this win, the Beermen improved their record to 5-2 in Group B, extending their winning streak to three games and boosting their chances of securing a spot in the quarterfinals of the 49th Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Governors Cup.

Beermen coach Jorge Gallent praised Adams’ impact, noting that his return, combined with the strong performances from the second unit, has injected fresh energy and balanced scoring into the team. “They’re showing consistency. Very good. They were tight,” Gallent remarked.

In addition to Adams’ impressive showing, CJ Perez and Junemar Fajardo contributed significantly, adding 23 and 22 points, respectively. To advance to the next stage, the Beermen need to secure victories in their remaining games against Barangay Ginebra on Sunday, Rain or Shine next Thursday, and Blackwater on September 21.

Adams, standing at 6’5”, made a notable impact in the third period, scoring 19 points and helping the Beermen establish a commanding 103-88 lead by the end of the quarter. His efforts included a crucial four-pointer that contributed to a 15-point advantage at the close of the period.

San Miguel enjoyed their largest lead of the game at the 10:53 mark of the fourth quarter, thanks to a three-pointer from Trollano that pushed the score to 108-88.

Brandone Francis led the winless Fuel Masters with 24 points in the loss.

The Beermen’s performance highlights their strong position as they continue their push towards the quarterfinals in this highly competitive tournament.
