THE Department of Health (DOH) has convened a multi-agency meeting with a view to strengthening the country’s fight against the deadly tuberculosis.
The 9th Tuberculosis National Coordinating Committee (TB NCC) conference held last Sept. 9
laid down strategies to combat tuberculosis through collaborative initiatives and planning in a bid to enhanceTB prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
The event brought together key partner agencies including the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC), and representatives from the private sector, medical societies, and other stakeholders.
Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, ex-officio chairman of TB NCC, presided over the discussion on the Philippine Plan of Action for Tuberculosis. This is in addition to the provision of updates on TB control efforts and member agencies’ contributions.
“TB NCC stands firm in its mission to advance our TB control efforts. Our focus remains steadfast on ensuring a healthier future for all Filipinos. Together, we are moving forward with determination and hope, driven by our shared goal of a TB-free nation,” Herbosa said.
