Manila-Paris flights to bring more foreign tourists to PH

The Department of Tourism (DOT) said Wednesday it welcomes the resumption of direct flights between Manila and Paris as announced by France Ambassador to the Philippines Marie Fontane.

“We eagerly anticipate welcoming more visitors from France and the European Union, who will undoubtedly discover and fall in love with the distinctive charm of our islands, the genuine warmth of Filipino hospitality, and the richness of our culture and heritage,” said Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Frasco.

As part of bilateral efforts to reconnect air travel between the two countries, Air France’s Paris-Manila nonstop service will begin by December 2024.

The DOT said the renewed connection would enhance the ease of travel and provide a crucial link to Europe.

France holds the position of the second highest contributor of visitor arrivals from the European Union. The direct service will offer unparalleled convenience to travelers, stimulating tourism and fostering a smoother journey to the Philippines, the DOT said.

“We are optimistic that this development will pave the way for further expansion of direct flights to other key European destinations in the near future,” Frasco said.
