The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said 120 local government units (LGUs) have been taking part in Paleng QR PH Plus as of July 31, 2024.
The program promotes digital payments on the public market, public transportation and other businesses using QR codes provided by QR PH.
The BSP said among the benefits of Paleng QR PH are safe and easy transactions and digital payments.
“More and more systems are now digital and cashless, assimilating individual MSMEs, even agricultural workers. These have expedited transactions and commercial exchanges and promoted the convenience of all parties concerned,” President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said in his latest State of the Nation Address.
Sta. Maria, Bulacan led by Mayor Bartolome Ramos became the latest LGU to join the Paleng QR PH.
The BSP said other LGUs that wanted to take part in the program may coordinate with their nearest BSP branch.
