Menor powers Lady Strikers past Lady Knights in MPVA

PERPETUAL Lady Altas rookie Jemma Menor tallied 19 points, including 18 attacks and an ace, to lead the Bacoor Lady Strikers to a bounce-back victory over the San Juan Lady Knights on Wednesday during the third day of the Maharlika Pilipinas Volleyball Association (MPVA) Season 1 at the Home of the Strikers gym in San Nicolas II.

Coach Sandy Rieta’s Lady Strikers, backed by Metro Land Builders, swept the Lady Knights in straight sets, 25-11, 25-22, and 25-18, to improve their record to 2-1 in the season.

Menor, a member of the NCAA Season 99 champion Perpetual Junior Altas Girls, once again shone. She previously recorded a career-high 26 points in a five-set loss to Rizal Xentro Mall.

Reigning MVP Shaila Omipon added 10 points for Bacoor, while Charisse Enrico and Cyrille Alemeniana contributed 7 points each.

Freighanne Garcia led San Juan with 10 points, followed by Nicole Ong with 7 and Raissa Ricablanca with 5.

MPVA action resumes on August 19, 2024, at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan City.

Quezon faces Rizal at 10:30 a.m., San Juan plays Valenzuela at 2 p.m. and the host Binan Tatak Gel takes on Caloocan in the main game at 4 p.m.
