Among the Filipino athletes seeking greatness in Paris are Cendy Asusano and Jerold Mangliwan (athletics), Erwin Gawilan and Angel Otom (swimming), and Brian Ong and Agustina Bantiloc (archery).

These athletes have dedicated years to grueling training, rigorous health conditioning, and making countless sacrifices to reach the pinnacle of Paralympic competition.

They have poured their blood, sweat, and tears into this journey, often at the expense of time with their families. Yet, their unwavering focus on representing the Philippines internationally has fueled their determination. “We are ready, and we will give our very best to compete,” the athletes declared in unison, fully aware of the formidable challenge that lies ahead.

The Paris Paralympics will feature the world’s best Paralympic athletes vying for glory, but the Filipino team remains undeterred. With clear mindsets, unshakable determination, and deep love for their country and families, they are prepared to face the trials that await them.

The athletes’ journey has been supported by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), which has provided essential equipment for both their training and competition needs.

This support has been crucial in ensuring that the athletes are well-prepared to perform at their best. The athletes also expressed deep gratitude for the encouragement and support of their families, whose unwavering belief in them has been a source of strength and motivation.

While the road to winning a Paralympic medal is undeniably tough, Filipino athletes are undaunted. Before their departure, they were honored with a heartfelt send-off party organized by Atty. Inang Calma on Friday, with special participation from Shakey’s Pioneer branch in Pasig. The event celebrated the athletes’ hard work and reflected the community’s unwavering support as they head to Paris.
