The Association of Chinese Filipino Schools in the Philippines (ACFSP) launched the “Respecting Teachers and Respecting Disciples Incentives” project to support and honor local Chinese educators.

The initiative aims to encourage local Chinese teachers to remain in their roles and continue preserving traditional Chinese culture.

Dubbed as “Root Project” by the Filipino Chinese community, it will provide allowances to in-service and retired teachers starting Sept. 14, 2024.

In-service teachers will receive P2,000 each, while retired teachers will be given P10,000 each.

The project received strong support from the Filipino Chinese community.

The Federation of Filipino-Chinese Associations of the Philippines donated P1 million, raising their total contribution to P4.5 million.

ACFSP chairman Ye Qi Ming, the principal of Chiang Kai Shek College, visited the federation’s office on July 29, 2024 to accept the check.

Chen Zhuo Yuan, founder and advisor of the Filipino Chinese Amateur Athletics Federation, personally contributed P1 million, increasing his total donation to P2 million.

The Philippine Chinese Commerce and Industry Overseas Association Inc. also contributed P300,000, raising its total contribution to P600,000.

The generous donations underscore the strong commitment within the community to support educational initiatives and uphold Chinese cultural traditions.
