A total of 117 areas in the country were flooded due to combined effects of Southwest Monsoon, Typhoon Butchoy and Carina, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Wednesday.
In the latest situation report of the agency, Central Luzon reported the highest number of flooded areas, including Calabarzon, Mimaropa and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Affected population rose to 183,464 families equivalent to 882, 861 persons, with BARMM reported as the most affected region in terms of population with 113,769 families or 567,448 persons.
Meanwhile, due to heavy rains and flash floods, the Armed Forces of the Philippines open on Wednesday its Gate 1, 4 and 5 to all vehicles.
“All vehicles are allowed to pass through the inside Camp Aguinaldo using those gates,” AFP said.
12 areas in the country reported landslide incidents including Region 1, Calabarzon, Region 7, 9, 11-12, Caraga and BARMM.
