‘Discriminatory quota’

Anti-quota protesters and students backing the ruling Awami League party clash in Dhaka on Tuesday.. At least five demonstrators were killed in Bangladesh during violent clashes between rival student groups over quotas for coveted government jobs, police said, a day after more than 400 others were injured. Protesters are demanding an end to a quota reserved for family members of veterans who fought in Bangladesh’s war of independence in 1971, which allows them to take up to 30 percent of government jobs.
