Tracksters John Cabang Tolentino, Lauren Hoffman and Kristina Knott have stayed within the qualification range and are set to formally earn slots in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Spain-based Cabang Tolentino will most likely show up at the Philippine training camp in Metz, France after he remained steady at no. 29 in the Olympic rankings for the men’s 110-meter category of World Athletics.

The 40 top entries in his category will be confirmed to go to the quadrennial meet at the end of the world rankings’ period at June 30.

The 22-year-old Cabang Tolentino earned his chance after taking part in 16 international meets when the qualification period started in July last year.

In his latest stint, Cabang Tolentino grabbed a silver medal after clocking 13.68 seconds in Ordizia meet last June 22.

Hoffman finished the qualification period for the women’s 400-meters hurdles at no. 36, with 48 set to gain slots.

Thirteen events she joined since last year allowed her to remain in contention at the end of the period with 1223 points.

In her latest outing, Hoffman placed eighth with a time of 57.05 seconds during the Czesław Cybulski Memorial in Poznan, Poland last June 23.

Knott is no. 40 in the women’s 200-meter run, with 40 expected to be confirmed entries at the Paris Olympics.

The 28-year-old Knott barely stayed within range with 1186 points, after joining 11 meets since July last year.

Knott grabbed a silver medal with her time of 23.32 seconds in the 200mmduring the La Classique d’athlétisme de Montréal in Montréal last June 21.

Officials of the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association are set to confirm their participation at the Paris Olympics in the coming days.

Because of their good rankings, they will have a great chance of joining world no. 2 pole vaulter EJ Obiena in his quest for glory in the Olympics.
