Gaming platform Creta to list token on Coins.ph

Creta, a leading multiverse gaming platform based in Dubai, is set to debut its token on Coins.ph.

Ray Eiichiro Nakazato, partner and chief creative officer of Creta, said in a media conference Thursday that the token would be listed on Coins.ph on July 8, 2024.

Creta aims to revolutionize digital entertainment and interactive media as a pioneer in the metaverse gaming industry. Headquartered in Dubai, it comprises top-tier global developers, publishers and blockchain experts.

Coins.ph, with 16 million users, is the Philippines’ leading cryptocurrency brand and trading platform. It operates under full regulation by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, holding licenses as both an electronic money issuer and a virtual currency exchange.

Nakazato n0oted the importance of launching in the Philippines first to engage with Filipino gamers and communities.

“We are launching our services in the Philippines first. So the initial community and gamers, all are Filipino gamers, Filipino people. So we thought that it’s necessary to be listed on a major exchange in the Philippines,” Nakazato said.

Nakazato said the Creta token functions as a utility token within the Creta platform, used for all platform services. It can be converted into Creta game points for purchasing items, and users can also create and sell NFTs (non-fungible token) based on their games or other content.

Thomas Vu, a partner at Creta and creator of League of Legends, highlighted the holistic approach taken in building Creta’s ecosystem. He cited the seamless integration of various components and the platform’s potential to surprise the industry.

“Currently, the team is working on some interesting business models, and the scalability of what we’re building is impressive. When you think about it, very few teams have 25 plus years of gaming experience – this just doesn’t exist, so the next evolution of existing genres that CRETA is working on is going to be interesting,” Vu said.

Creta uses Locus Chain, a low-cost and scalable blockchain developed over seven years, which Nakazato identified as a key differentiator. The technology ensures cost-effectiveness and sustainability for the platform.

With a proprietary Game Creation Engine, Creta enables users to develop, publish and distribute their own games as NFTs.
