Edra: Barred to represent PH, wins for USA instead

Fil-American breakdancing phenom Logan Ellana Edra wanted to compete last year for the Philippines in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia.

But after officials of the Cambodian SEA Games Organizing Committee informed Philippine officials that they won’t let her, Edra went on a different direction and decided to compete for the Team USA instead.

Over the weekend, the 20-year-old Edra made it to Team USA, after reaching the quarterfinal round of the Olympic Qualifier Series 2024 for B-Girls in Budapest.

Edra, competing under the moniker, Logistx, lost to French bet Sya Dembele, also known as Syssy, 1-2.

She still got one of seven spots to the Olympiad, though, with Ami Yuasa, who eventually topped the event after beating another Japanese Ayumi Yuasa.

Back then, Edra did not get a confirmation to be released from the United States’ DanceSport Breaking Division that would have allowed her to dance for the Philippines.

Edra was born and raised in San Diego, California, and started out at the age of seven.

There are still hopes, however, that Edra would one day do her breaking for the Philippines.

Two years ago, Edra made an active decision to try to compete for the Philippines when she made a couple of milestones.

Among these milestones were Edra’s title wins in the 2018 Silver Open, the 2020 Junior Breaking 7toSmoke Radical Forze Jam honors and 2021 Red Bull BC One World Finals.
