‘Stop discriminating LGBTQIA+ members’

Las Piñas City Rep. Camille Villar on Sunday called for a permanent cessation of sexual discrimination against members of the LGBTQIA+ community as she joined the Pride Month celebrations in her home city.

Villar underscored the need to accept and respect the rights of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders, queers, intersexuals and asexuals, saying they have been discriminated and continued to experience unfair treatment from their families, communities, and even the government.

“We are all the same. We are all equal in life. There should be no discrimination based on sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions. We should all accept and respect one another,” she stressed. Rio N. Araja

The five awardees were Gil Granado of Brgy. Talon 2 for beauty, fashion, culture and arts; Arnold Pante of Brgy. Pamplona for community service; Jesus Catangue Jr. of Brgy. Talon 1 for education and academe; Sinfronio Acaylar of Pamplona 2 for sports; and Melchor Casimina of Pamplona 3 for livelihood.
