Travellers International Hotel Group (TIHGI), the owner and operator of Newport World Resorts (NWR), appointed a seasoned casino and hospitality professional as its new chief financial officer.
TIHGI said in a statement Tuesday it appointed Laurence Hawke, an Australian national, as new CFO effective July 2024.
Hawke’s career spans over 30 years in the industry, most recently as the group CFO of the pre-eminent luxurious integrated resort Hoiana Resort & Golf in Da Nang, Vietnam.
Hawke has substantial exposure to pre-opening and operation of high-stakes, luxury Asian integrated resorts with both gaming and non-gaming components.
He has been responsible for corporate and operational finance including analysis, and strategic planning as well as financial controls and budget management.
Hawke will be reporting to the TIHGI president and chief executive Nilo Rodriguez and working closely with the TIHGI executive chairman Kevin Tan and chief operating officer Lance Gautreaux.
TIHGI early this month appointed Rodriguez and Gautreaux as new executives following the retirement of Kingson Sian, a long-time executive of the group.
Hakan Dagtas and Bernard Than, former chief operating officer and chief financial officer, respectively, also resigned from their posts.
Rodriguez has been with NWR since August 2022 as chief strategy officer, while Gautreaux joined the company in September 2023 as chief casino officer.
