The Chinese Embassy in Manila, the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII) and the Filipino Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation (FCAAF) jointly sponsored a cycling activity on June 5, 2024.
The event commemorated the 49th anniversary of the Philippines-China diplomatic relationship and the 23rd anniversary of Filipino-Chinese Friendship Day.
PSC chairman Richard Bachmann led a group of 35 cyclists, alongside more than 200 Filipino Chinese bikers from Bonifacio Shrine in front of the Manila City Hall towards Quezon City.
She Yi Jing, president of the Filipino Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation, commanded the departure.
The cycling activity aimed to spread the spirit of Philippine-China friendship along the route and promote the values of partnership and cooperation through sports.
Several vice presidents and directors of FFCCCII and FCAAF also participated in the event to emphasize the significance of extending the spirit of Philippine-China friendship to every corner of Metro Manila.
