The Quezon City government has garnered an unmodified opinion from the Commission on Audit (COA) for the fourth consecutive year.
According to COA, the unmodified opinion (also referred to as unqualified opinion) is issued when the auditor concludes that the financial statements are prepared, in all material respects, in accordance with the applicable financial reporting framework.”
The accolade reaffirms the city’s steadfast commitment to transparency, accountability, and sound financial management.
Mayor Joy Belmonte expressed gratitude for the dedication and hard work of the city’s financial management team and all personnel involved in ensuring the integrity of the city’s financial operations.
“We offer this to all Quezon City citizens. This achievement reflects our relentless pursuit of excellence in public service and our commitment to the welfare of our constituents,” she said.
It underscores the city’s unwavering dedication to upholding the highest standards of governance and fiscal responsibility.
According to the Independent Auditor’s Report, the “financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of Quezon City.”
With thw fourth consecutive unmodified opinion, Belmonte vowed to continue to set a benchmark for effective governance and financial stewardship in the Philippines.
