Actress Shaina Magdayao graced the prestigious Cannes Film Festival once again. She recently shared photos on her Instagram, looking chic in a beige suit and sunglasses as she jetted off to France.
“A privilege to represent the country. CDF the second time around? Someone pinch me please?” Magdayao said in the post’s caption.
The actress stars in Walay Balay by Filipino director Eve Baswel and Malaysian director Gogularaajan Rajendran. The short film centers on the journey of a mother and her daughter as they try to look for a new home amidst a war.
Magdayao previously attended the film festival in 2019 for director Lav Diaz’s Ang Hupa where she starred alongside Piolo Pascual. The film was also a part of the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight section.
Cannes Directors’ Fortnight serves as an independent part of the Cannes Film Festival that showcases short and feature films as well as documentaries that take on an original directorial style.
Other Filipino artists and celebrities who are currently in France for the film festival’s Directors’ Fortnight are Kylie Verzosa, Janet Nepales, Ruby Ruiz, Lorna Tolentino, Sylvia Sanchez, and Xian Lim.
