CFBCI, Qingpu District delegates discuss business opportunities

The Chinese Filipino Business Club Inc. (CFBCI) led by president Samuel Lee Uy welcomed a delegation from Qingpu District, Shanghai, China on May 10 at the CFBCI headquarters in Binondo, Manila.

The six-member delegation, representing key leaders from financial, economic and development sectors in Qingpu District, was accompanied by Jameson Ong, special assistant to Chairman Carlos Chan of the Liwayway Group and owner of the renowned Oishi snack brand.

Other CFBCI officers who were present at the meeting were president emeritus Allan Wong But Loy, honorary vice president/auditor Johnny Lee, vice president Paul Yeung, vice president Willy Chuakimtong, director Juan Go, vice chairman Ramon Cheng and vice chairman Stella Lim.

Uy lauded Shanghai’s economic prowess and underscored the importance of maintaining strong bilateral relations despite territorial disputes. He noted the steady growth of bilateral trade between the Philippines and China, as reported by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

CFBCI showed a video highlighting its social welfare initiatives and flagship projects aimed at fostering economic and cultural exchanges within the Filipino and Tsinoy communities.

The two parties then engaged in formal introductions and discussions on future business opportunities.

CFBCI presented the delegation with its limited edition 20th anniversary celebration coffee table book.
