THE Perpetual Help Junior Altas Girls will attempt to win the National Collegiate Athletic Association Season 99 Junior Volleyball Fiesta Championship when they face the Arellano University bets in Game 2 of their best-of-three finals today (Wednesday) at the Filoil EcoOil Center in San Juan City.
Bench tacticians Jason Sapin and Sandy Rieta have prepared for the game, knowing that Arellano University is aching to recover from the loss in the Game 1, a five-set 25-22, 17-25, 26-24, 21-25, 15-13 heartbreaker.
Sapin and Rieta are expected to lean on Jemalyn Menor, Sherrie Acosta, Janine Espiritu and Jam Monte in Game 2.
Menor recorded a game-high 23 points, while Acosta contributed 20 points.
Libero Espiritu had a double- double of 22 digs and 23 receptions, while setter Monte recorded 20 sets for the Tony Tamayo-owned education institution south of the metro.
Catherine Chu posted a triple-double for Arellano with 34 points, 21 digs and 10 excellent receptions and Samantha Maranan had 31 points, 21digs and 18 receptions for Arellano University.
Middle Blockers Jaja San Juan, Isabel Baser, Ashlee Buenventura are expected to provide defense and spikers Genna Jimenez, Jemma Pingol, Maya Javier are anticipated to step up and contribute to the team of the Las Piñas City-based Altalettes.
