IPOPHL signs deal with French agency

The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) and the French Patent and Trademarks Office (INPI) teamed up to carry out a cooperation agreement after signing a joint work plan that outlines capacity-building and information exchange activities aimed for completion by 2025.

The joint work plan is a follow-through of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) establishing a framework for collaboration in promoting IP creation, protection, utilization, management and enforcement.

It also emphasized strengthening IP application assessments, training IP professionals, and developing skilled personnel. The work plan focuses on building IPOPHL’s patent mapping and analytics services. This will empower innovation-driven companies and startups in the Philippines by helping them identify their competitive edge in the market.
