A remarkable basketball court artwork featuring leaders from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been unveiled at Manila’s iconic Lope De Vega basketball court.
The court was painted by the same group responsible for the famous hardcourt in Taguig tenement, depicting sports icons LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.
Maya Carandang, the artist behind the project, shared that this marks his 47th custom-painted basketball court, utilizing 50 gallons of paint for the Manila project located at Lope de Vega Str., Brgy. 329, Zone 23.
This world-class masterpiece not only pays homage to the esteemed leaders of the UAE but also serves as a heartfelt expression of gratitude from the Filipino community.
It recognizes the profound impact that these leaders, known for their exceptional leadership and generosity, have had on countless lives in the Philippines.
The artwork stands as a testament to the invaluable support extended by the UAE to the Philippines, especially during times of calamity such as the 2020 Taal volcano eruption, when aid poured in for the victims.
Additionally, the UAE’s donation of 100,000 COVID-19 vaccines, RT-PCR machines, and the opportunities created for Filipinos both domestically and internationally have been transformative, positively impacting lives across the nation.
Manito Hwang, spokesperson for the project, expressed profound gratitude to the United Arab Emirates and its revered leaders for their compassion and generosity, which have touched the lives of millions.
“We extend our deepest gratitude to the United Arab Emirates and its revered leaders for their compassion and generosity that have touched the lives of millions,” said Hwang, a businessman and philanthropist who spent his childhood in this part of Manila.
“This tribute symbolizes the enduring bond between the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates, showcasing our deep appreciation for their selfless support,” Hwang added.
The selection of the Lope De Vega basketball court holds special significance for Filipinos, particularly basketball enthusiasts, given its importance as a beloved venue for the sport.
This choice provided the perfect backdrop to showcase the extraordinary artwork and to convey the deep appreciation of Filipinos towards the royal family and leaders of the UAE.
