Broadcaster turned-public servant Julius Disamburun has officially taken his oath as a member of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP) headed by former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Disamburun was among the around 1,500 members and supporters of the PDP who attended the party’s national council meeting and 42nd anniversary celebration in Cebu City.
In an interview in Parañaque City, Disamburun confirmed his PDP membership together with his wife, Keccy. Like other members, the couple underwent the basic membership seminar, where the party’s basic principles were discussed.
“Magkaibang industriya man ang ating napagsilbihan, pinagdaanan o kulturang ating nakilala, iisa pa din ang ating layunin, ang makapaglingkod para sa bayan (Although we worked in different industries, experience, or culture that we have known, we still have a common goal, the serve the country” he said.
“Mula sa pagiging broadcaster hanggang sa makapagsilbi sa iba’t ibang sektor ng lipunan, mula Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, at dito sa Metro Manila patuloy nating isinasabuhay ang malasakit sa bawat isa, dahil ang serbisyong ating pinapakita sa kapwa ay pagseserbisyo na din sa Panginoong Diyos (From being a broadcaster to having served various sectors of society in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, we continue to serve other people because the service we give them is also a service to God),” he added.
Disamburun also thanked the PDP officials, especially Duterte and Senators Robin Padilla, Christopher Go, Francis Tolentino, and Ronald Dela Rosa, as well as the PDP’s Executive Director and former Undersecretary Astravel Pimentel-Naik.
Disamburun was a TV and radio personality of the state-run network People’s Television from 2012 to 2018 who used to be one of Duterte’s media moderators at the Malacañang press briefings.
He later moved to government service and back to media at DWRB-FM.
At present, Julius is the chief of Public Information and Media Affairs of BARMM’s Parliament Member, Diamila Disimban-Ramos, chairperson of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority’s Committee on Women, Youth, Children, and Persons with Disabilities.
Meanwhile, during his attendance at the 2nd National Peace Convention, he vowed to support the youth and peace for community development through help of public information.
“Maintaining peace is our social responsibility. Let’s take advantage of the advancement of technology, such as social media and other digital platforms, to create peace building mechanisms and promote religious and cultural harmony. Let us shape the new generations to unite in the cause of peace and fight bad habits. Without peace, there is a direct barrier to progress and well-being.”
