Zenaida Seva, the Manila Standard’s resident astrologer in the early 2000s, has died, according to her friend, writer Jessica Zafra, who broke the news via a series of Instagram stories on Thursday.
The cause of her death was not disclosed.
Zafra said the wake and public viewing of Seva’s urn will be held from noon Friday (March 22) until 10:30 P.M. on Sunday (March 24) at Chapel C of the Mortuary Chapels in Christ the King Parish, Green Meadows Avenue, Quezon City.
Both women enjoyed a close friendship, bonding over movies, especially during the ‘90s towards the early 2000s. Zafra described Seva as “wise” and a “true eccentric.”
“I am on the fence about astrology, but let me tell you: Zenaida was always right. She taught me that everything was connected,” she wrote.
Seva became popular when she ventured into television to deliver daily horoscopes in morning shows. She would often remind her audience to exercise their free will and not rely so much on astrology for guidance.
“Hindi hawak ng bituin ang ating kapalaran. Gabay lamang sila. Meron tayong free will. Gamitin natin ito (The stars don’t hold our destiny.
They are just guides. We have free will. Let’s use it),” Seva used to say.
