Malabon Mayor Jeannie Sandoval and Senator Francis Tolentino led the distribution of P2,000 cash assistance to 600 Malabueños under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation or AICS program on Thursday, March 14.
AICS is a program of the national government through the Department of Social Welfare and Development, that aims to provide assistance to Filipinos in need including those living near waterways and victims of fire or other calamities.
The beneficiaries received P2,000 assistance from the mayor and the senator during the program.
According to Mayor Jeannie, the distribution of the aid shows the city government’s concern for each Malabueño as a community.
She promised that the city government will always be ready to support Malabueños in need.
The senator praised Malabon for the awards it received including the certificate of commendation from the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development for its excellent urban housing initiatives.
The mayor thanked Senator Tolentino for the help extended to the Malabueños.
The city government and the senator’s office also distributed wheelchairs to six Malabueños with orthopedic disabilities.
There was also a raffle during the said activity where Malabueños had a chance to win kitchen appliances.
The residents were also given help for their legal concerns with free legal consultation and notary services in the said program.
