Former First Lady Imelda Marcos is “getting better and better” and is set to be discharged from the hospital more than a week after being hospitalized for pneumonia and fever, President Marcos said.
“Pagaling na nang pagaling … she’s scheduled to come out. I think Thursday kasi matatapos [ang antibiotics],” Mr. Marcos said in an interview in Berlin on Wednesday.
“Pabawas na talaga ‘yung lagnat niya, by now, wala na,” he added.
Mr. Marcos said his mother is eager to resume her regular activities, which he said indicates positive progress in her recovery.
“Alam niyo naman ‘yung mother ko. Pinakamahirap para sa kanya ‘yung walang ginagawa. Kaya’t medyo nandoon na tayo ngayon. So, as I said, that’s a good sign,” he said.
Last May, the 94-year-old widow of former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. had a successful angioplasty.
