THE Caloocan City government now offers weekly free pelvic ultrasound for pregnant women every Thursday, courtesy of the city health department (CHD).
The womenfolk may avail themselves of this healthcare service through the barangay health centers in the city.
Mayor Dale Gonzalo Malapitan thanked the CHD for continuously heeding his directive to provide more accessible health services for his constituents.
He also acknowledged the timeliness of the program in light of the current observance of the National Women’s Month.
It is now about two years since I became mayor of Caloocan, and we have sustained out health services for our people),” Malapitan said.
In conjunction with the observance of National Women’s Month, this is one way of extending free services to our mothers. We are aware the women have multiple health issues, and we will stay focused on these even after the National Women’s Month),” he added.
Expectant mothers who would like to avail the free ultrasound services are reminded to first undergo pre-natal checkup and secure a referral from their barangay health center physician.
