Capas, Tarlac – Japan registered twin victories at the start of the water polo competition in the 11th Asian Age Group Championships here on Sunday.
Kai Inoue scored seven points in leading his team to a 14-11 win over China in the men’s division.

Yumeka Sanda and Shoka Fukuda scored five and points, respectively, to carry the women’s squad to a 19-15 victory over Thailand.
Other winners in the men’s division were Uzbekistan over Saudi Arabia, 14-10; Singapore over Malaysia, 23-8; and Kazakhstan over Sri Lanka, 43-1.
Also winning their games in the women’s division were Uzbekistan, which nipped Singapore, 19-18, and Kazakhstan, which clobbered Sri Lanka, 43-4.
