Ben&Ben took to X to express their excitement over their upcoming performance with the singer.

Ma, special guest na kami ni @edsheeran sa concert niya,” the band said in their post.

The band further reminisced about how they made a cover of Sheeran’s hit song, “Perfect,” which they had posted on their official Youtube channel back in Sept. 28, 2017. It was the first song cover they posted on the channel.

“Never in our wildest dreams did we think this could happen. Surreal,” the band said further.

Ben&Ben then posted a screen recording of the song cover in question on the same thread.

“Throwback! Ibang iba pa itsura namin nunAndami na pala nating pinagdaanan, Liwanag,” the band said.

Many fans expressed their excitement over the announcement, with many congratulating the band for the opportunity to perform with two popular international musicians.

Ben&Ben is composed of Paolo Benjamin Guico, Miguel Benjamin Guico, Poch Barretto, Jam Villanueva, Agnes Reoma, Andrew De Pano, Toni Muñoz, Keifer Cabugao, and Patricia Lasaten.

The indie band rose to fame with their hit singles, “Leaves” and “Kathang Isip.” After being signed under Sony Music Philippines, they released their hit debut studio album, “Limasawa Street,” which included the highly popularized singles “Araw-Araw” and “Pagtingin.” The band released their second studio album, “Pebble House, Vol. 1: Kuwaderno” in 2021.

Some of the band’s songs have also been a part of the official soundtracks of various feature films such as “Last Song Syndrome,” “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral,” “Exes Baggage,” “Dito at Doon,” “Love You Long Time,” and “Rewind.”

Sheeran’s concert will be held on March 9 at the SMDC Festival Grounds.
